WHO WE ARE
The Dr. Ronald E. McNair Educational (DREME) Science Literacy Foundation honors the life and legacy of the late Dr. Ronald E. McNair. Dr. McNair died along with six fellow astronauts in 1986, onboard the ill-fated Challenger 51L space shuttle, however, his spirit and dream continues thru the foundation.
The foundation promotes innovative educational programs designed to improve and strengthen teaching and learning of science, math, and technology at all levels, elementary thru college. It incorporates a two week teacher workshop and a one week summer academy/camp for youth during which teachers apply their workshop training. Hands–on experiments, field trips, and expert guest speakers are included in the program. The (DREME) Science Literacy Foundation also includes college scholarships to senior high school students, science contests, support to the Dr. Ronald E. McNair Museum and Science Learning Center and various science related projects.
